Yumeji's Kawaii 010 (キノコ Mushroom）

赤い傘に白い斑点が特徴のベニテングタケ（紅天狗茸）を、夢二は好んで描きました。

ベニテングタケは、ヨーロッパで幸福のシンボルとして親しまれ、絵本やイラストによく登場するキノコです。またアール・ヌーヴォーの意匠として取り上げられることも多く、夢二によって図案化されたキノコにも、その影響が感じられて西欧的な趣に満ちています。

愛らしい見た目とは異なり、ベニテングタケは毒キノコの一種です。夢二の詩「紅茸」は、その特徴を踏まえた言葉が綴られていますが、視点を変えると“紅茸”に“女性”を重ねているようでもあり、恋多き人生を送った夢二の心が垣間見えます。 ★★★ Yumeji loved to draw the fly agaric, which has a distinctive red cap with white spots.

The fly agaric is a popular symbol of happiness in Europe, and often appears in picture books and illustrations. It is also often featured as an Art Nouveau design, and Yumeji's mushroom designs are influenced by it, giving it a Western feel.

Despite its cute appearance, the fly agaric is a type of poisonous mushroom. Yumeji's poem "Benitake" is written with words that take this characteristic into account, but if you change your perspective, it seems as if the "benitake" is superimposed on "women," and you can get a glimpse into the heart of Yumeji, who lived a life full of love.
