Sheet Music Cover (3) Children's Songs)

In the mid-Taisho period, the "Children's Song Movement" arose to create truly artistic modern children's songs. The Ministry of Education's songs included in national music textbooks were criticized for being too formal and far removed from children's emotions, and the "Children's Song Movement" was developed on a large scale, centered around poets Kitahara Hakushu, Saijo Yaso, and Noguchi Ujo, and composers Nakayama Shinpei, Hirota Ryutaro, Narita Tamezo, and Motoori Chosei, and many related magazines and sheet music were published.

From the late Taisho period to the early Showa period, Yumeji also devoted himself to the binding of similar sheet music. He paid meticulous attention to not only the covers but also the title pages and cutouts, and designed the sheet music from a child's perspective.
